It is said that Toyota would recall about 7.4 million cars globally over faulty power window switches which has a potential fire hazard. While its said there had been no reports of accidents, injuries or deaths as a result of the window problem, Toyota will recalling 459,000 vehicles in Japan, 650,000 in Australia and Asia, as well as hundreds of thousands from across the Middle East, and from within Canada and its other, smaller markets around the world.
The range of Toyota cars affected worldwide include certain sedan and SUV models of the Yaris, Vios, Corolla, Matrix, Auris, Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Tundra, Sequoia, xB and xD produced between 2005 and 2010.

Toyota Highlander

Toyota Highlander is a midsize crossover SUV offered in three trim levels: base, Sport and Limited. Available in front-wheel or all-wheel drive, base front-drive models come with a standard 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque connect with a six-speed automatic transmission. All other Highlanders have an impressively efficient 3.5-liter V6 good for 270 hp and 248 lb-ft of torque. A five speed automatic is standard with the V6. There is also a hybrid-powered Highlander available.
Other features is an Electric Power Steering (EPS) system, Sport and Limited models get a standard backup camera using a 3.5-inch LCD display. Major options include leather seats, heated seats, a touch-screen DVD based navigation system, a new Smart Key System, an upgraded JBL Synthesis stereo, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with 9-inch screen, and a towing package that increases towing capacity to 5000 pounds.
